Halesowen Streetwatch Team

Who We Are

Halesowen StreetWatch is a volunteer-led community safety initiative organised in partnership by Halesowen BID and West Midlands Police (WMP). Formed in 2020, the group has since grown to a team of twelve active members who regularly patrol key areas of the town.

Our aim is to provide a visible presence that helps promote safety, support the local business community,  and contribute to a welcoming environment for everyone who lives, works, or visits Halesowen.

What We Do

StreetWatch volunteers conduct regular patrols in close partnership with local police officers and businesses. Their role is to deter crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB), provide a visible and reassuring presence within the community, and report suspicious activity or incidents directly to the police. Volunteers also support wider community safety initiatives and promote responsible behaviour in public spaces. While StreetWatch volunteers do not hold police powers, their presence plays a vital role in helping to keep the town safe.

The team has received recognition across the StreetWatch network for its outstanding contribution and has also been commended by local MP Alex Ballinger for the positive impact of its work in Halesowen town.

How to Get Involved

We are always interested in hearing from residents who would like to volunteer. All members receive basic training and patrol  as part of a team. If you care about your local area and want to help make a difference, StreetWatch could be a great way to get involved.
