Hypa Dance Company
HYPA Dance Company, tucked away at Little Cornbow in Halesowen, is more than just a dance school—it’s a community where movement, expression, and inclusion come together with purpose and heart. Founded by Hayley Ketteringham-Coton, the studio is defined by its welcoming spirit and celebrated for creating a space where everyone—from confident dancers to complete beginners, and those of all ages and abilities—can find joy in dance.
Walk through its doors and you’ll find a vibrant blend of recreational classes—from ballet and contemporary to hip-hop, dance fitness, Pilates, and beyond. There’s something for every level, age, and interest, and performance opportunities are woven throughout the year to give students a chance to shine. But what really makes HYPA stand out is its commitment to inclusive dance: sessions are thoughtfully crafted for adults and children with additional needs, spanning mild learning difficulties to more complex or physical challenges. The company even offers tailored outreach programs that bring creative movement to those who need it most.
Behind the scenes, Hayley’s passion is impossible to miss. In a story that’s become something of a legend locally, she balances her time between teaching HYPA and working for the Danish Royal Ballet—flying back to Halesowen midweek to keep her heart close to home. That spirit of dedication, and the belief that dance should feel open to all, continues to shape the studio’s inclusive philosophy.
HYPA Dance Company is a place where confidence grows alongside technique, creativity is encouraged as much as precision, and every dancer—no matter who they are—feels seen, welcomed, and celebrated.
